UI + Brand Identity
Houston Contemporary
Craft Center
Houston Contemporary Craft Center is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to advancing education about the process and importance of craft. HCCC serves as a treasured resource in the Houston Museum District community. Showcases emerging artists in exhibitions, introduce visitors to contemporary craft through hands-on events, and supports artists through its artist residency program.
Challenge
The current brand identity needs to be updated and convey the craft art form in an inclusive educational space, including non-branded touchpoints and a difficult-to-navigate website.
Approach
My goal was to elevate its identity by showcasing the center sophisticatedly, creating a trademark that relates to craft, and building a website that welcomes the user to visit the center.

Touchpoints & Environmental Graphics
Touchpoints include a stationery letter to send out to artists as an acceptance of their residence. Badges would identify members, staff, and artists during significant events. The craft center has existing bus transportation. Therefore we communicated their proposition to the community through the bus stickers. Environmental graphics allow the craft center to display crafts sophisticatedly, including gift shop items enabling guests to participate in the center with the home.
Website
The Houston Contemporary Craft Center would be able to display its most appealing exhibition on the homepage to attract locals. I organized their content in a simplified manner to make it easier for the user to navigate. To fund the center, the user can become a member on the last tab.
